HOUSE OF COMMONS CUP 2022

Today Inverallochy Golf Club was the traditional venue for the House of Commons Cup.
This is theTeam Knock-Out Competition played by the nine Buchan Seniors Clubs.
Oldmeldrum and Newburgh brought their 12 man teams to the final where six pairs from each competed in Fourballs.

It was the closest of contests, with both clubs enjoying a single hole lead in two fourballs and the other two even at the turn.

At the end  the result was 3 wins to Oldmeldrum and 3 wins to Newburgh. With all of the fourballs played to the 18th, it was the total winning margin of each club which separated the teams.

Oldmeldrum won their 3 holes by a total margin of 3 holes while Newburgh had a total winning margin of 5 holes.

Association Officials with over two decades of experience in the Buchan Seniors had never seen such a close contest in the final.

Congratulations to both clubs for their performance in the final.
