CONSTITUTION
The Association shall be known as
“THE BUCHAN LADIES SENIOR GOLFING ASSOCIATION”.
The purpose of the Association is to encourage competitive social golf by organising meetings for members at participating courses in the Buchan area for ladies holding current handicaps and having reached the age of 50 years. Ladies will be a Fee Paying member of one of the participating clubs. The membership year is from the AGM in October till the following years AGM in October. The Association may also be involved in any other purposes, which may usefully be associated with its prime purpose.
1) The Association will be administrated by a Committee and hold an Annual General Meeting in October each year. The committee shall consist of at least one lady member from each of the participating clubs. and from which will be elected a Chairperson/Captain; a Secretary/Treasurer (which functions may be conjoined or separate at the discretion of members). A quorum shall be five of the members, without which quorum no business may be transacted. Participating clubs are Ellon; Newburgh; Peterhead; Fraserburgh; Turriff; Oldmeldrum; Inverurie; Longside, Cruden Bay and Inverallochy further clubs may apply for/be asked to join at the discretion of the Committee. It will be the duty of a retiring BLSGA representative to appoint another BLSGA member from her own club to take over the position of Representative by the BLSGA’s AGM in October prior to the coming season. If no Representative can be appointed by the BLSGA’s AGM the Club will have to withdraw from the Association.
2) Notice of twenty one days must be given of the Annual General Meeting.
3) Renewal of membership fees to be paid by 28th February each year. New members will be accepted at any time subject to payment of the full annual subscription. The Committee is empowered to set Club Membership quota should this be necessary, but annual membership fees may only be revised by members after discussion at an Annual General Meeting. To retain membership each member must play a minimum of three Buchan Senior Open meetings per season.
4) The Committee will administer the affairs of the Association and the running of the golf meetings, producing an audited Financial Statement at the Annual General Meeting. Committee members have no personal liability for debts of the Association.
5). Handicap for entry to the Association is Handicap Index 36. The maximum handicap allowance at open meetings of the Association is Handicap Index 40.
